Updated UV, Mental Ray Shader, and Decals

For our assignment this week we were asked to create some additional texture detail, clean up our UV Maps, learn to use the Mental Ray Shader/Renderer in Maya, and add billboard decals to our car.

Here I have cleaned up my UV map and optimized the layout to make it easier to texture on.

Shown is a basic texture mapped on. There is something to be desired in terms of sharp, clean lines, but its a good start.

Here is a render of some mental ray shaders applied to the vehicle. Rubber for the tires, a sort of plastic for the car body, and a cool-looking bluish glass for the headlights, windshield, side windows.

I also went ahead and added some Mario decals to both sides of the car to spice it up a bit. Tossed some "rims" with decals on all four tires just to give it a nicer look than the flat grey.
